Canine Heartworm

Heartworm is an infection in animals caused by a worm called Dirofilaria Immitis. This worm is spread through mosquito bites. While an animal may be positive for Heartworm, symptoms usually do not show until Stage 6- at this point it may be too late!

Los Angeles County reported 257 cases of Heartworm- 18 cats and 239 dogs- between 2005- 2015. 70% of these cases DID NOT show symptoms at the time they were diagnosed.

It is important to be proactive in your pet's health and get them on monthly preventatives today!
